Welcome to the 51st Session of the Synod of the Province of Rupert’s Land! Please join us for a pre-Synod meeting to help us get acquainted, and to learn more about what to expect when Synod meets in Calgary.
The pre-Synod gatherings are for 90 minutes, and take place on the following times and dates:
Saturday, April 13 beginning at 10am MDT/CST (11am CDT and noon EDT)
Tuesday, April 16 at 6:30pm MDT/CST (7:30pm CDT, 8:30pm EDT)
Both sessions have the same agenda – please choose the one which suits your schedule best.

Outline for pre-synod Zoom meeting
Welcome and opening prayer – Metropolitan
Introduction of leadership
Pray together – gospel of the day, read aloud once
What is a Province? What is a Synod? – Metropolitan & Prolocutor
Who are we? – in small breakout groups, introduce yourself, and share two things about your local church
Read the gospel again – still in breakout groups, listen to the gospel and share a response to “What is Jesus saying to you?”
Introducing the synod theme “Arise, Shine”, and diocesan presentations – Deputy Prolocutor
Review of business and topics coming before synod – Prolocutor
How to participate in the work of synod – Metropolitan & Secretary
Read the gospel again – everyone can respond (in chat) with a response to “What is Jesus calling us to do?” Please write down an action you can take before we meet in synod, and keep it where you can see it.
